Rock On Trucks Marks 25 Years in Waite Park, Minnesota: From One Truck in 2001 to a Million-Load Aggregate Hauling Platform Now Growing in Texas
The woman-founded, DBE-certified aggregate hauling and heavy haul company celebrates a quarter century out of the St. Cloud area, now serving six states and actively hiring Class A and Class B CDL drivers in Minnesota and Texas.

Rock On Trucks, the aggregate hauling and heavy haul trucking company headquartered in Waite Park, Minnesota, marks 25 years in business this month. Krystal Vierkant founded what became the Rock On family of companies on August 11, 2001, with one truck and one trailer. Twenty-five years later, the company has delivered more than one million loads of sand, gravel, rock, rip rap, and hot mix asphalt, and the shop still sits at 3100 7th Street South in Waite Park, next to St. Cloud. The name is still on the door.
How the company grew is a matter of public record. In October 2008, the Star Tribune profiled Vierkant in “A knack for finding work keeps her business trucking.” She had left a St. Cloud bank job, built a freight brokerage, then added trailer leasing, the Rock On Repair heavy truck shop, decorative rock on the backhaul, and a rolloff division for the winter months. A companion snapshot that day counted 22 employees and $11.5 million in 2007 revenue. The same year, Rock On earned a place on the Inc. 5000 at No. 3,966 overall and No. 70 among transportation companies nationally.
Twin Cities Business profiled the company again as a Small Business Success Story: six divisions, two trucking company acquisitions in 2010 and 2011, and roughly 120 trucks a day moving about 250 loads at the height of the Minnesota construction season. America's Best Magazine featured Vierkant in Women in Small Business. The recognition kept coming for two decades:
- Twin Cities Business Small Business Success Stories Superstars, 2007 and 2015
- Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal 25 Women to Watch, 2008
- Inc. 5000, No. 3,966 overall and No. 70 in transportation, 2008
- St. Paul Business Journal Best Young Entrepreneurs, 2010
- St. Cloud Times 5 Under 40, 2011
- Minnesota Department of Transportation DBE of the Year, 2013
- ABC Construction Woman of the Year, 2013

Rock On is a woman-founded business and a certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Texas, making it a ready partner for public infrastructure and DOT work across all six states. The company remains listed in the University of Minnesota supplier directory.
Locally, the company is as recognized for what it gives back as for what it hauls. Operation Respect, Rock On's fleet of memorial tribute trucks honoring military members, firefighters, and law enforcement, includes a Vietnam Wall tribute and a life-size Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Those trucks haul real loads on real jobs, then lead parades on the weekend.
The story of the last 25 years is also a story of expansion. From its Central Minnesota base, Rock On has grown into a six-state platform hauling aggregate, hot mix asphalt, road base, equipment, and machinery across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Texas. The Texas expansion puts the company's trucks in one of the fastest-growing construction and infrastructure markets in the country, with company equipment and dedicated owner operators now running loads in both the Northern Midwest and Texas.
That growth is creating jobs. Rock On is actively hiring Class A CDL drivers and Class B CDL drivers in both Minnesota and Texas, along with owner operators looking for steady freight. Local work gets drivers home nightly, pay is weekly, and the company's own shop keeps the fleet maintained. Applications are open at rockontrucks.com/drive-for-us.
In June 2026, Cape Point Capital Partners, with Haas Capital and Horsman Holdings, acquired Rock On Trucks, Rock On Enterprises, and Rock On Repair. The 25-year name, the Waite Park shop, and the people who built the business stayed in place. More on the company at rockontrucks.com/about-us.
“We bought out two trucking companies in 2010 and 2011. Since then, we have doubled our fleet and still run a pretty steady 120 trucks a day, with around 250 loads.”
