Cape Point Capital is seeking an experienced CEO to lead one of our portfolio companies in the trucking and bulk hauling space.
About the Opportunity
This is a well-established trucking and logistics company with over two decades of operating history. The business operates a sizable fleet across multiple US locations and serves customers in construction, infrastructure, and related industries. Revenue is in the mid-eight-figure range.
The company has been owner-operated since inception and presents a compelling opportunity to professionalize operations, implement modern technology, and drive meaningful margin expansion and revenue growth.
The Role
We are looking for a hands-on CEO to take full ownership of the business and lead day-to-day operations. This is not a corporate oversight role. We need someone who knows trucking inside and out and is ready to roll up their sleeves.
You will be responsible for:
- Full P&L ownership and operational leadership
- Building and leading a high-performing management team
- Implementing modern fleet management, dispatch, and estimating systems
- Driving operational efficiency and margin improvement
- Expanding into new geographies and growing the customer base
- Establishing KPIs, reporting, and a performance-driven culture
- Partnering with Cape Point Capital's managing partners on strategy and capital allocation
Who We're Looking For
- 10+ years in the trucking, logistics, or heavy haul industry with senior leadership experience
- Prior P&L responsibility at a trucking operation, ideally as a GM, VP Ops, COO, or CEO
- Strong operational background with a track record of improving margins and scaling businesses
- Experience managing fleets and leading teams in a hands-on environment
- Comfortable operating in a PE-backed company with clear performance expectations
- Technology-forward mindset: you've implemented systems and used data to make better decisions
- US-based, with willingness to travel between locations as needed
Compensation
- Base Salary
- $175,000 – $225,000
- Performance Bonus
- 30–50% of base, tied to EBITDA targets
- Equity
- Equity / profit participation with meaningful upside
